A handmade (embroidered with beads) icon of St. Panteleimon is a martyr and healer. He lived in the 3rd century in Nicomedia (modern-day Turkey) and was known for his compassionate care of the sick. He is often invoked for healing and protection against illness. St. Panteleimon is frequently depicted in iconography with medical symbols, reflecting his role as a patron of physicians.
This work required approximately 100 hours of embroidery handwork using these materials: agate, jade, crystal beads, pearls (acryllic), vintage stars, metallic beads, glass rhinestones, metal wirebraid, jewelry beads; gold, bronze, turquoise, and green French wire on satin embroidery cloth.
