Metropolitan Pavel, Abbot of Kiev Caves Lavra, Placed Under House Arrest

Metropolitan Pavel, Abbot of Kiev Caves Lavra, Placed Under House Arrest - Holy Cross Monastery

The Union of Orthodox Journalists reports that Metropolitan Pavel, the abbot of the Kiev Caves Lavra, was been placed under house arrest and charged with violating the Criminal Code by "inciting inter-religious hatred" and "justifying Russia's armed aggression" (despite the fact that he has publicly condemned the invasion without reservation). His trial is currently scheduled for Monday.

The brothers of the Kiev Caves Lavra have been ordered by the Ukrainian state to leave the monastery of their repentance, and are currently appealing to the courts as they maintain that there are no legal grounds for their eviction.

Countless hierarchs from many Orthodox churches throughout the world have spoken out in defense of Met. Pavel and the brotherhood of the Kiev Caves Lavra, including our own Metropolitan Nicholas.

Please join us in praying that the Lord and the Mother of God will protect and defend Met. Onouphry, Met. Pavel and his brotherhood, and all of our Ukrainian brothers and sisters as they continue to hang on the Cross alongside our Savior.

Zelensky appears to be committing an apostasy against the Orthodox Christian Church in the Ukraine…sad business!
