Something is stirring in these hills. Every weekday morning, right around 7 o’clock, the workmen come up our dusty gravel road. They rise up before dawn and drive, sometimes over an hour, just to make it out to our little hollow.

Glory be to God, since our last update we have made significant progress on the new church. Most of the masonry work is complete, including both the exterior shell of the building as well as the seventeen interior arches and the multitude of columns which richly adorn the inner space of the church.

This past May, Hieromonk Basil and Riassophore-monk Ephraim traveled to St. Tikhon’s Monastery for the annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage. Our monks arrived several days early to participate in the festival choir conducted by Benedict Sheehan. Archimandrite Zacharias (Zacharou), prolific author and disciple of St. Sophrony of Essex, was also present for the weekend, as was the “Hawaiian” Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.
