We are very glad to announce that the relic of the hand of Righteous Anna, the Ancestor of God, will be visiting our monastery next week from Mt. Athos. All are welcome to come and venerate and pray before the relic. Public veneration of the relic will begin on the evening of Friday, September 4th at 6pm. We will serve a special moleben and akathist at 6:30pm the same evening. Matins, 1st Hour & Divine Liturgy will be served as normal the following morning, Saturday, September 5th at 7am. This past May, Hieromonk Basil and Riassophore-monk Ephraim traveled to St. Tikhon’s Monastery for the annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage. Our monks arrived several days early to participate in the festival choir conducted by Benedict Sheehan. Archimandrite Zacharias (Zacharou), prolific author and disciple of St. Sophrony of Essex, was also present for the weekend, as was the “Hawaiian” Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.

By the grace of God, two Hermitage monks have been given the opportunity to make a pilgrimage this summer to Russia. They departed from the U.S. on May 31st, and spent their first weekend in Moscow visiting the holy sites there. Following this, they travelled to Optina Skete where they spent several weeks living the monastic life there alongside the brethren.
