Monastery Breaks Ground on New Church

By the mercy of God, as of Monday November 9th we have officially broken ground on our new church. At noon the brotherhood of Holy Cross Monastery, led by Archimandrite Seraphim, served a moleben at the site of the new temple and sprinkled the entire area with holy water. Immediately afterward our contractors began excavation work.

New Set of Bells Arrives

Thanks to a very generous benefactor, a full set of thirteen Russian bells has been donated to the monastery for the belfry of our new church. They were made at the largest bell foundry in Russia and are perfectly tuned.

Two New Novices on the Feast of the Beheading of the Forerunner

At the end of the Vigil service for the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, our two newest monastic candidates were clothed as Novices.

First Service for St. Joseph the Hesychast Celebrated in English

This past Sunday, on August 30th (17th O.S.), our monastery brotherhood celebrated the service in honor of the recently glorified Elder Joseph the Hesychast.

The Feast of St. Panteleimon (2020)

On Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of August, the brotherhood of Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV celebrated the feast day of the monastery’s patron saint, the Great Martyr and Healer Pantelceimon.
