The Hermitage of the Holy Cross celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, marking the occasion in a number of important ways which culminated in the celebration of its patronal feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with the annual Pilgrimage Weekend following.

The floor has been poured for the new St. Herman's Building and construction progress will be much more rapid going forward, with the interior walls scheduled to go up next week. Additionally, the main entrance road has been shut down to allow for repairs and improvements, with the new gas and water line installation scheduled to begin next week.

Ten monks from Holy Cross travelled to the Hermitage's Skete of St. John the Theologian in Hiram, OH to celebrate its patronal feast day.

The monument for Hieromonk Kallistos, the founder of the Hermitage, has been delivered and installed. The monument will be blessed by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion following the Divine Liturgy on Pilgrimage Weekend (October 2).

This past weekend Metropolitan Jonah came to Wayne to serve at the parish of Christ the Savior. The Metropolitan stayed at the monastery for the weekend, and on Monday, September 5 served the Divine Liturgy for the Apodosis of the Dormition along with all the monastery clergy.
